Chris - Hound/Shep mix
Chris has had his leg amputated to correct the fracture in his shoulder. We did a biopsy and it was not due to cancer so we can only conclude the trauma was due to being hit by humans, which also explains the fusion in part of his spine. He is recovering in a foster home and is ready for adoption. Despite his past, he craves human attention and is fine with both men and women. He would do well in a home of a retired or family or family with a stay at home parent that he can keep an eye while ralxing in the sun or on a couch. He loves to chew bones and is generally a happy dog. He gets along well despite now having 3 legs and are excited to meet his forever family.
Chris is in need of a lot of medical attention. Fractured shoulder, grade 4/5 heart murmur, fused spine just to start. He is malnourished and under weight. We are going to send him to our specialist and will keep everyone posted. We will need a medical foster for him to heal in. Fill out an application online at www.alsiptotherescue.org or text us if you are an approved ATTR Foster. You can donate directly above on the donate tab for his medical care.
Before and after you take home your new rescue you will have the support and access to all resources which ATTR can provide. If you want to learn how you can set your new rescue up to succeed and blend in with your family come we will give you tips on what to do when you first bring home a new rescue.
