Merry Christmas from ATTR! We have had an amazing year and have countless people to thank for our success. We have grown so very much and saved many lives thanks in large part to your support and sponsorship. ATTR was blessed by the owners of Alsip Home & Nursery who gave us a wonderful start and home within their two locations to run our Rescue Adoption Centers. We have amazing Rescue Team Members that come in every day to take care of our rescues. They feed them, give them medications and vaccines and most importantly love and help to socialize them. We have amazing ATTR Foster Homes that take in our puppies and our rescues with medical needs as well as our elderly rescues. The ATTR Volunteers are ready at a moment’s notice to help with transport, intake, welcoming in new volunteers, administrative duties and adoptions. Our rescues have found some amazing ATTR Forever Homes with the families that have adopted them and taken on the lifelong responsibilities of the rescues.
We became a 501c3 organization this past year and have relied even more on our volunteers, donations, sponsorship's, fundraising and the business community to help support our rescues. Each year our support system grows and we are overwhelmed by the contributions, selfishness and dedication the community shows for the ATTR Rescues. We also have to thank the groups that are being created by the children and within the schools to help mold the next generation. One of ATTR’s goals is to help educate the public to decrease the number of dogs and cats that need to be rescued. ATTR has been welcomed by Clark Middle School through the organization of Paws For A Cause to speak with the kids about why dogs and cats need to be rescued, what we do as a rescue and what they can do to help rescues and stop the cycle as they grow up. Since their onset we have added a home-school group called Pawesome Kids and are scheduled to speak at two new schools just after the New Year. These kids have already accomplished a great deal for the ATTR rescues and we look forward to adding in even more kids groups.
ATTR was honored to be the recipient of a large donation as part of request of a will for the estate of Violet L Belohlav Trust at the discretion of Katie and Kevin McCrea. Additionally we had several business and individuals show their support and sponsorship at our Golf Outing Fundraiser which was a success and very beneficial for the ATTR Rescues. We are planning a Casino Night Fundraiser in conjunction with the Hearts In Motion organization in April and we hope you all come out to have some fun with us and let us thank you.
Every day we accomplish more and get closer to accomplishing our goals of becoming a more successful all breed Dog/Cat Rescue specializing in saving litters of puppies/kittens, pregnant moms and special needs dogs. Making sure all of our rescues are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines prior to adoption, with a spay/neuter certificate going home with the puppies. We urge all adopters to attend training classes with their newly adopted rescue and offer guidelines and the resources to ensure a smooth transition for the rescue and family. It takes more than a village to accomplish this and there are too many people to recognize thank individually. On behalf of ATTR as a whole and individually from Kim Berryman, Sandy Richwalski & Erica Mettille we thank you, we are in awe of your dedication and selflessness and we are honored to be working side by side with each and every one of you. Together we will accomplish amazing things and we look forward to many years of growth with you all.
