Scrappy came to ATTR damaged and scared. He was with us at our adoption center for 2 years. Once the Rescue Team and Volunteers got to earn his trust he loved them! It was still difficult for potential adopters to break through to him. Time and patience was what Scrappy needed. We talked to many people about Scrappy and many came just to visit him at the adoption center. At last a family saw in Scrappy what we saw in him. They worked with us and came in to spend time with Scrappy in our adoption centers. Once we got to a point that he was comfortable with them, we worked on overnight home trails. Then it was decided. Scrappy found his Forever Home. We will be forever grateful to his adopters and hope that we can find some more people willing to come in and meet with some other great dogs that will need a little extra TLC prior to adoption. ATTR will always help any of our Forever Families with the transition of our rescues in homes!
March has been great for our rescues so far. We continue to have amazing families come in to our adoption centers and adopt our rescue. We have started free seminar classes to work with the families prior to adopting some of the rescues that need some extra help transitioning into homes. We are grateful and hopeful of the turn out and can’t wait to see some more amazing rescues find wonderful Forever Homes. Stop by our Frankfort location at 5:30 on Wednesday s or 3:30 on Sundays for our free seminars.
Welcome to the ATTR family!
We are so excited that the skin issues puppy litter has now all been adopted. Also George and a few other larger adults that have been with us for some time also found wonderful forever homes as well as Puggy & Olivia being adopted together. Both of Tess's puppies were adopted but we are still looking for a home for Mamma Tess. All of Mocha's puppies have been adopted and she will be adopted by her foster home. We are still working on those pictures. We had some adult cats adopted and of course all the different litters of puppies that we have pulled out of shelters have found homes. Thank you to all of our adopters, both new and repeat. Please feel free to send us update pictures on our Facebook page and feel free to stop in the adoption centers with any questions or just to say HI. Please check out the Forever Home Training Academy inside of Alsip Home & Nursery as well. We will do our best to provide any help needed to make sure these are truly Forever Homes!
Merry Christmas from ATTR! We have had an amazing year and have countless people to thank for our success. We have grown so very much and saved many lives thanks in large part to your support and sponsorship. ATTR was blessed by the owners of Alsip Home & Nursery who gave us a wonderful start and home within their two locations to run our Rescue Adoption Centers. We have amazing Rescue Team Members that come in every day to take care of our rescues. They feed them, give them medications and vaccines and most importantly love and help to socialize them. We have amazing ATTR Foster Homes that take in our puppies and our rescues with medical needs as well as our elderly rescues. The ATTR Volunteers are ready at a moment’s notice to help with transport, intake, welcoming in new volunteers, administrative duties and adoptions. Our rescues have found some amazing ATTR Forever Homes with the families that have adopted them and taken on the lifelong responsibilities of the rescues.
We became a 501c3 organization this past year and have relied even more on our volunteers, donations, sponsorship's, fundraising and the business community to help support our rescues. Each year our support system grows and we are overwhelmed by the contributions, selfishness and dedication the community shows for the ATTR Rescues. We also have to thank the groups that are being created by the children and within the schools to help mold the next generation. One of ATTR’s goals is to help educate the public to decrease the number of dogs and cats that need to be rescued. ATTR has been welcomed by Clark Middle School through the organization of Paws For A Cause to speak with the kids about why dogs and cats need to be rescued, what we do as a rescue and what they can do to help rescues and stop the cycle as they grow up. Since their onset we have added a home-school group called Pawesome Kids and are scheduled to speak at two new schools just after the New Year. These kids have already accomplished a great deal for the ATTR rescues and we look forward to adding in even more kids groups.
ATTR was honored to be the recipient of a large donation as part of request of a will for the estate of Violet L Belohlav Trust at the discretion of Katie and Kevin McCrea. Additionally we had several business and individuals show their support and sponsorship at our Golf Outing Fundraiser which was a success and very beneficial for the ATTR Rescues. We are planning a Casino Night Fundraiser in conjunction with the Hearts In Motion organization in April and we hope you all come out to have some fun with us and let us thank you.
Every day we accomplish more and get closer to accomplishing our goals of becoming a more successful all breed Dog/Cat Rescue specializing in saving litters of puppies/kittens, pregnant moms and special needs dogs. Making sure all of our rescues are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines prior to adoption, with a spay/neuter certificate going home with the puppies. We urge all adopters to attend training classes with their newly adopted rescue and offer guidelines and the resources to ensure a smooth transition for the rescue and family. It takes more than a village to accomplish this and there are too many people to recognize thank individually. On behalf of ATTR as a whole and individually from Kim Berryman, Sandy Richwalski & Erica Mettille we thank you, we are in awe of your dedication and selflessness and we are honored to be working side by side with each and every one of you. Together we will accomplish amazing things and we look forward to many years of growth with you all.
Another great start to another month's adoptions! We love all of our new forever homes and families that have been recently added! We still have a ton of great rescues that are waiting for their forever homes with new ones coming in weekly! We at ATTR do our very best to help match up potential adopters with rescues and then we will help by providing the resources to set your family up for success once you bring home your new pet! We work closely with our onsite vet clinics and Forever Home Training Academy trainers to make sure the transition is smooth for all! ATTR is located inside of Alsip Home & Nursery, we are a 501c3 rescue organization looking for the support of the community for foster homes, volunteers & donations!
Look at the great start we have had this month in finding amazing families to adopt our rescues. We still are waiting on pictures to come in and home visit updates but we have even more adoption updates to share. We are so excited to add all these amazing families and hope you continue to share our rescues with your family and friends to make more dreams come true.
Here are some more awesome adoptions we have for the month of September. We love all of our puppy adopters and are especially grateful for the adopters of our adult rescues! We rescued several dogs this past month that found us when their owners passed away and needed new forever homes. Prince now Darby, Virgil, Trigger & Foxy are just four such examples. Thank you for sharing our posts, adoptions, fosters or otherwise. We still have many more rescues to find forever homes for!
We have started September off with a Bang! Lots of fabulous new families came in to meet some great rescues and made them a part of their families. Princess was especially remarkable as she was still scared with most people at the adoption center until her family came in. As soon as she met the whole family complete with a playmate she went around and gave everyone kisses as she wagged her tail happily! She was transformed and it was amazing to see her with her new family. So many more happy stories are in these pictures. We have some amazing new volunteers that helped with many of these adoptions. If you want to become part of an amazing group become a volunteer or adopt from ATTR and join in something amazing! Applications are in the Get Involved section.
