We have been working around the clock with Matilda and her puppies but over the past 24 hours we lost her entire litter. Rescue Team Members have been at the foster home and we have taken them back and forth to the vet a few times to try and figure out what is wrong. As time went one they all stopped eating and would not take in any food from a bottle either. We feel something happened to mom when she was a stray that wound up not allowing the puppies to form correctly as the all the puppies had a failure the thrive. Matilda is not doing well herself with a bad respiratory issues currently. We have done xrays and have sent out blood work. The picture above is her with the last 2 puppies under her head from yesterday afternoon. We have mom in isolation and are watching her closely now.
We would like to thank the foster home that took in the whole family and has been there around the clock with Matilda and her family and let Rescue Team Members in their home for hours at a time to help care for the family. We are all devastated at the loss and are praying that mom pulls through this. As we get updates on her condition we will keep everyone posted. Please keep mom in your thoughts today and thank the foster home for helping us get through this terrible situation. We will continue to do everything needed medically for mom as we feel she was sent to us for a reason. She is sweet as can be and we love her to pieces.
We welcome any monetary donations for our medical needs for the rescues as we will not refuse to pull them from shelters if ill and we treat any and all medical conditions. Thank you for following our rescue journeys and for supporting our rescue efforts.
