Cassie was flown to ATTR by Pilot’s N Paws pilots Dean & Jack who volunteer their time and plane to get rescues in need to their rescue destination. Cassie came to ATTR a little over a week ago and could barely walk due to what we thought was Lymes Disease which caused major damage to her joints. Her front legs show the most damage and gave her the most trouble. You can read her story below to see the horrific things she has already been through.
After our vets had reviewed and consulted her situation we discovered that medication alone will not help her walk and she is still in a lot of pain. She has made progress with her front legs and her stamina; however we feel that fusing her front legs at the damaged joints will be the only way she will be able to not be in pain for the rest of her life. The surgery will be very detailed and will ultimately leave her with plates in her two legs strengthening her legs at the joints. She is already arthritic and the joints have a lot of scarring that will be removed.
The surgery will cost the rescue $2000 at a discounted rate. We need to raise the money to be able to do this surgery on Cassie. She is in a loving foster home that just adores her. She loves all people, dogs and cats! She is simply amazing even though every step she takes causes her pain! Please read her story sent to us from the shelter she came from below. So many people have come together for Cassie so far and we cannot let her down! Please donate to help ATTR help Cassie!
